One of North America's Fastest Growing Thaï Franchises

Thai Express Continues Rapid and Robust U.S. Expansion

Multi-state growth in markets of various sizes shows viability of brand’s models in urban and suburban areas where consumers demand innovative cuisine

The Thai Express™ franchise concept has taken off since coming to the United States in 2017, proving that consumers are ready for an innovative approach to Thai cuisine. At the same time, the franchise’s two models have given dozens of entrepreneurs the opportunity to get in early on this exciting new brand.

“We are seeing new store openings and continued strong interest in our food-court model as well as our in-line, end-cap model,” says Ray Zandi, Vice President of Business Development. “It dovetails with the dozens of mall food courts that are seeing a resurgence of business, as well as lots of new construction in nontraditional shopping areas that have food offerings.”

Many parts of the country on board

Nearly a dozen Thai Express franchise locations have opened in 2018, joining several that came online in 2017. Fifty-five franchises had been sold by the fourth quarter of 2018, meaning many more openings are in the pipeline for the coming months as additional franchises are sold.

“We have restaurants open in many states and continue to get a lot of interest out of Texas, California and Nevada, as well as all across the Midwest, Southeast and Southwest,” Zandi says. In addition, we are seeing over 100 inquiries per week for Thai Express across the country.

One reason a Thai Express franchise is proving attractive is that it offers two robust business models. As Zandi points out, large shopping malls are still busy commerce centers, and many have been repurposed into equally busy community hubs. That means they have food courts, as do outdoor venues that mix retail stores, restaurants, fitness centers, cineplexes and more.

“Thai Express is an exciting, engaging concept that fits into multiple different venues,” Zandi says. “As more open, potential owners are seeing the growth and coming off the sidelines. And because this brand is still very new to the United States, it still has enormous room for growth.”
