Thai Express Franchise Expands Into Charlotte, North Carolina
Nationwide growth continues for innovative Thai food franchise as entrepreneurs grab the opportunity to be first in their market
The word is out about owning a Thai Express™ franchise. Expansion continues in multiple markets throughout the United States, most recently with an opening in Charlotte, NC.
The Charlotte Thai Express franchise is one of a multi-unit agreement with husband and wife franchise owners, Dipin and Neetu Chellani. Their current plans call for three Thai Express locations to come online over the next three years, with the first set to open in the Rivergate Shopping Center later in 2019.
First location to anchor franchise expansion
According to local media coverage, Dipin Chellani has a background in finance, and Neetu Chellani owns a Kumon children’s learning center franchise in Charlotte. In addition to introducing Thai Express to North Carolina, the couple told reporters they have plans to co-brand one of their locations with Ginger Sushi + Poke Shop, another rapidly growing opportunity in the Kahala™ brands family.
“Charlotte residents are going to fall in love with Thai Express, just as these franchisees did when they tried it for the first time. This isn’t going to be a traditional ‘Mom and Pop’ Thai restaurant, guests will love the fresh and healthy authentic Thai dishes and the environment in which it is served” says Ray Zandi, Vice President of Franchise Development.
Developing neighborhoods targeted
The Chellanis say they are looking at some up-and-coming neighborhoods in Charlotte proper, as well as surrounding communities, for their next two locations.
By expanding the concept into more communities within the market, it gives the consumer more opportunity to experience the brand and creates brand awareness in the region.
“With Thai Express’ focus on create-your-own, fresh, Thai menu items, it’s a brand new type of fast casual restaurant in Charlotte,” Wuycheck tells local media. “We are confident in the Chellanis as franchise owners, and we’re thrilled to see the brand enter into the new market of Queen City.”
